Wootton Co-operative shop expansion

Speaking to the assistant manager on Saturday, he could not confirm whether a Post Office counter would be re-instated within the expanded outlet, as part of the current planning application. He said the PO had turned down their request on 2 seperate occasions so far. I suggested to put up a suitable poster in the window to encourage us all to make sure this happens. We need to rally the troops and lobby local MP's, the Post Office services and anyone else, in the fight to re-instate our dearly missed local essential service. Come on make it happen.

Yes, but what about John Bookseller? Surely we want to encourage businesses into the village? The proprietor has worked hard to contribute to village life since joining our community and has been most generous in his contributions to our events. We certainly do need a Post Office - but what about One Stop taking this on?
